Administrators at Weber High School in Pleasant View, Utah are on full damage control mode after a video of five white teenage girls gleefully shouting, “f*ck n*ggers,” began circulating on social media.

In an interview with Huffington Post, Weber School District spokesperson Lane Findlay said that the girls shown in the video — all of whom are cheerleaders — admitted to recording the video a year ago while off of school property during a break.
Findlay made it clear that the girls were actually repeating the phrase “serggin cuff” in they recorded the video. However, when uploaded onto an app and played backwards, the seemingly nonsensical gibberish was decoded into the racist phrase shown on tape.
“It doesn’t excuse their behavior in any way,” Findlay said. “It’s still offensive and inappropriate.”
“We realize it’s affected many students at the school, but we want to be fair and thorough and ask for everyone’s patience,” Findlay said. While no disciplinary action has been determined, the young women could face madatory counseling, dismissal from the cheerleading team or expulsion from school for their actions.
The school is expected to make a decision about the girls' punishment in the next week.
