MTV announced the 2022 MTV Video Music Award nominees with Lil Nas X, Jack Harlow and Kendrick Lamar leading the way with seven nominations each. They are followed by Doja Cat and Harry Style with six nominations, and Billie Eilish, Drake, Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift and The Weeknd with five.
Lil Nas X and Harlow nabbed multiple nominations for their collaboration “Industry Baby,” and they lead the tally opposite Lamar, who is nominated for the first time since 2018. There are 26-first time nominees, including Baby Keem, with four nominations including Best New Artist. Tems, JID, Muni Long and more receive their first nominations.
The 2022 awards will air live on Aug. 28th at 8 p.m. from New Jersey’s famed Prudential Center. It will be simulcast on The CW, BET, BET Her, CMT, Comedy Central, Logo, MTV2, Nickelodeon, Paramount Network, Pop, TVLand and VH1.
