The Washington Redskins' victory over the San Francisco 49ers, 26-24, on Sunday wasn't the only thing that made headlines. After intercepting a pass to seal the victory, Washington cornerback Kendall Fuller and his teammates celebrated – but not with a dance or an acknowledgement to a higher power.
In celebration of the win, Fuller put his hands up as his teammates pretended to arrest him. Safety D.J. Swearinger pretended to pat him down and take him away in handcuffs.

Considering the NFL protests, the celebration didn't go unnoticed and many wondered if it was a new way of protesting on the field. However, the players said they've been doing the celebration since training camp. According to USA Today, the team has been calling themselves the "Flight Marshals" this season.
Swearinger explained to The Washington Post that the celebration simply meant that Fuller "locked the game up at the end" when he intercepted the pass to secure a win for Washington.
“A little Flight Marshal signature. Lock him up," Swearinger said. "I guess we locking up. He locked the game up at the end, so I had to lock him up. I just told him big players make big-time plays in big-time situations. And he did that.”
In late July, Washington cornerback Bashaud Breeland posted a photo of the celebration before the beginning of the season.
