The students and faculty of Burke High School in Omaha, Nebraska received a special treat last week. During an orchestra performance, one of their very own graced the stage in his Sunday’s best and lent his vocals to the Sam Cooke song “A Change Is Gonna Come.” To the audiences surprise, their custodian had major chops.
Smith says he’s been singing since he was 13yo, and now he just sings for the Lord with gospel groups in the area. He says he lives by the “whistle while you work” motto because it brings joy to the students.
