One week has passed since 22-year-old Stephon Clark was fatally shot by police behind the home he shared with his grandparents. Just as we honor and remember his life, we will continue to honor his legacy in the fight against police brutality.
A few days ago, protesters blocked the entrance to a Kings-Hawks game, causing a start delay. On Sunday, the Sacramento Kings and Boston Celtics put a pause on their rivalry for a moment and teamed up for an endearing PSA in honor of Clark, USA Today reports. Seventeen players participated in the PSA, which played during the first-quarter of the game's broadcast.
During the warmup, the Kings and Boston Celtics wore shirts that read “Accountability. We Are One.” on the front with“#StephonClark” on the back.
The Kings posted the video on their official Twitter account.

“These tragedies have to stop,” stated Kings rookie De’Aaron Fox.
“There must be accountability,” said Al Horford of the Celtics.
Other notable quotes were "We will not shut up and dribble," and "This is bigger than basketball."
The video won praise online, including from activist Shaun King, who celebrated the organizations for their activism.
Thank you to the Kings & Celtics for leaning into this moment instead of away from it – which is what the NFL did for nearly two years. #StephonClark was an unarmed, non-violent 22 year old Black man shot at 20 times & killed by @SacPolice in his own backyard.

The NBA itself has also made a point to speak out on social issues and to support its players who chose to do so.
