This time of year, the Fourth of July brings out lots of patriotic news.

But in a story that's less than patriotic, that is downright rebellious, a white man recently entered predominantly black barbershop FadeNUp in Oklahoma City, and requested a Confederate flag design, according to Oklahoma's News 9.

Many would have sent the man packing. But a barber at the shop decided to give his new client exactly what he wanted.

This immediately struck major controversy on Facebook as people were baffled by why the barber did not turn down the customer for the emblem's white supremacist connotation.

The barber who did the cut told reporters that his decision to do the give the man what he wanted was strictly about business and not his personal feelings towards the flag.

"You have the right to your opinion," head barber Demonte Heard to News 9, "But at the end of the day, your opinion doesn't pay my bills, and I have kids to take care of."

After News 9 posted the story, Heard received an outpouring of support on Facebook, with Oklahoma City locals celebrating the barber's commitment to his family, capitalism and the First Amendment.

According to News 9, the customer's desire for a Confederate flag on his head wasn't politically, but artistically motivated. Supposedly, the man requested the rebel flag because he wanted to show support for rapper Yelawolf's own haircut.

Would you had turned down the paying customer's money? How do you think the barber should have handled this?
