nullEver since Tambay first told us about South African/Nigerian drama series Jacob's Cross, a little over a year ago, I've been paying close attention to South African television.  This past April, the Mzansi Magic channel introduced a new drama series to its viewers called Mshika-shika.

Watching South African TV shows on DVD has become a guilty-pleasure for my family, so I hope Mshika-shika finds its way to DVD soon.

It's been described as part Luther, part The Wire.  And the general consensus is that Mshika-shika— which translates to The Hustle— is all entertaining.

Mshika-shika, produced by Dv8 Films, "explores family on both sides of the law following a carjacking of a senior politician's daughter's BMW in Mayfair, Johannesburg, and examines how separating the good from the bad is not as easy as it once was."

Richard Lukunku stars in the lead role of Detective Phaka.  SA hip-hop star Mxolisi "Zuluboy" Majozi also stars.

To our readers in South Africa– Have you been watching Mshika-shika?  Does it live up to the hype?
