Police officers in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, were called to a local airport when a seemingly intoxicated woman began attacking JetBlue employees and issuing disruptive tirade.
The woman, in a now-viral video posted by Instagram user Dre London, jumped on top of a service counter and reportedly called an employee a "rapist" during a tantrum on Sunday.
Initial reports claimed the woman was upset after learning a flight out of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport was canceled. However, JetBlue stated the woman was removed from another plane because she was drunk and disruptive to other passengers.
“The customer in the viral video was scheduled on a flight which did not experience any major delays,” JetBlue said in a statement to Yahoo News.
She was denied boarding because she showed signs of intoxication. Dre London was one of many passengers waiting for a separate flight delayed for approximately 10 hours due to computer failure.
The unidentified woman called an employee a rapist in the short clip.
“Who does that to a woman like me?” She screamed.“Get me out of here.”
Yelling wasn't enough. The belligerent prospective passenger threatened to take out a gun after calling the employees behind the desks "rapists."
“Get me out of this sick f**ked-up place. You rapists. Get me out of here. I have a f**king gun on me because I am homeless.”
She then gathered her belongs and walked off as others murmured about the scene. But she did not make it far, Newsweek reports.
Broward County Sheriff’s Office deputies promptly arrested the woman for disorderly conduct.
“On January 6, crew members at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport requested assistance from local law enforcement after a customer was denied boarding for indications of intoxication and became disruptive,” a spokesperson from JetBlue Corporate Communications said.
Over the years, the airline has been at the center of several major incidents. In 2017, a Black family was thrown off a flight because of a birthday cake.
