Fresh off getting a songwriting credit on Ed Sheeran’s smash hit, “Shape of You,” Kandi Burruss and Tameka “Tiny” Harris are celebrating another big move — and this time, fellow Xscape members LaTocha and Tamika Scott are joining them.

Deadline reports that with an assist from Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta producer Mona Scott-Young, Xscape is set to get the biopic treatment.

The announcement comes amid the group reuniting to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their first release, “Just Kickin’ It.”

There’s been no news as to which network will air the biopic, but it won’t be TV One — that network recently announced it is making a film about Xscape without the group’s authorization; in a statement, Xscape called the move “disrespectful and disappointing.”

About the film with Scott-Young, Xscape said, “We are excited to join forces with Mona Scott-Young to bring the real Xscape story to the world. This partnership will allow us to tell our story about our lives the way we lived it. It’s our truth about the rise, the fall, and the return of Xscape. We feel the recent announcement of an unauthorized biopic on our lives is disrespectful and disappointing. We are not, in any way, participating in that project and it will never ‘represent’ our true story.”

Scott-Young noted that Xscape is “one of the most successful female groups of all time,” with three platinum albums and six Billboard Top 10 hits to their name. She says the chance to work with the group has left her feeling “honored.”

We’ll be sure to let you know when and where you can catch the Xscape story; until then, you can watch Burruss on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Harris on T.I. and Tiny, and Tameka Scott in Tyler Perry’s Stranger In My House and Head Over Heels.
