Grown-ish actor Yara Shahidi is ready to become an Ivy League graduate officially. 

The 22-year-old was overjoyed to receive her Bachelor’s degree in sociology and African American studies from Harvard University.

On Wednesday, Yara shared several photos on her Instagram of herself and her mother, Keri Shahidi, preparing for her big day. In the caption, Yara reveals that she will celebrate her graduation all week long.

“Celebrating ALL week,” Yara said. “T MINUS (1) DAY AWAY FROM GRADUATION”

Afshin Shahidi, Yara’s father, posted a photo of his daughter in her cap and gown on his Instagram account. Afshin described watching his daughter grow up as a “surreal moment.”

“Beautifully surreal moment,” Afshin said. “seeing our delicate petal in full bloom.”

Yara first enrolled at Harvard in 2017; however, she took a year off before beginning her studies. As a result, Yara has juggled her acting career and studies over the last four years.

Yara announced the completion of her senior thesis at Harvard University in an Instagram video in March, while dressed in Harvard merchandising and standing in the middle of a snowstorm.

“Weighing in at 32,508 words and 136 pages,” Yara said. “is this thesis writer, Yara Sayeh Shahidi! Let’s go.”

“YOUR FAVORITE THESIS WRITER IS OFFICIALLY DONE WRITING,” Yara captioned the post. “TRY NOT TO BE INTIMIDATED BY MY STATS.”

Harvard University’s baccalaureate ceremony was held Wednesday.
