Seven Seconds, Harriet and The Nevers star Zackary Momoh has joined the cast of AMC‘s upcoming drama series The Driver.
The show stars Giancarlo Esposito as a taxi driver whose life is turned upside down when he agrees to chauffeur a New Orleans-based Zimbabwean gangster played by Momoh.
The Driver is set to launch on AMC and AMC+ and due to go into production in August. The series comes from creators Danny Brocklehurst and Sunu Gonera. Theo Travers serves as showrunner.
'The Driver' is a remake of the 2014 British drama of the same name.
In 2014, The Driver aired as a three-part, BBC original. It was created by Brocklehurst with Jim Poyser and produced by It’s a Sin and Years and Years banner Red Production.
Like its remake, the series followed David Morrissey as a taxi driver employed by a criminal gang.
The series is Zackary Momoh's latest television project.
Momoh first appeared on Brit TV on series such as Doctors and Holby City. The actor later starred in such series as the Netflix crime drama Seven Seconds with Regina King. His film debut was the 2016 period drama A United Kingdom alongside David Oyelowo and Rosamund Pike. Since then, Momoh has appearing in the 2019 supernatural horror film Doctor Sleep as well as Harriet opposite Cynthia Erivo.
