Zahara Marley Jolie, Angelina Jolie’s daughter, officially joined Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority last week. The 18-year-old crossed the stage and formally presented herself to the crowd during their New Member Presentation, which is also known as a probate.
“My name is Zahara Marley Jolie,” she said. “Coming all the way from the Golden State in the city that is full of angels, Los Angeles, California… I am this line’s number seven.”

Her family was present to celebrate her joining the Mu Pi Chapter of AKA at Spelman College. Her mother flew to Atlanta for the event, as well as her brothers Maddox and Pax — who are respectively 22 and 19 years old.

They posed for photographs, at a luncheon event prior to the probate, which they shared with Essence. Zahara and the other initiates wore white dresses to the celebratory occasion while her mother held her face in her hands in awe.

“Angie is very proud for Zahara,” a source close to Jolie told the outlet. “She is impressed by her choice to work hard, her interest in service and her wish to join the AKA sisterhood — one of the many impressive HBCU sororities. It meant so much to Angie and Zahara’s siblings to be there to support her and to congratulate all the other girls.”
Zahara reportedly walked in while singing “I Finally Became an AKA.” Her joining the sorority has been months in the making. The 18-year-old enrolled as an undergraduate student in 2022. At the time, Jolie and her daughter had made headlines after the actor was seen dropping her daughter off to college.
