As we've stated before, the South is truly a force in music. The region is responsible for some of the best bass-knocking, body rocking hits this side of the Mason Dixon line. While there have been names that have stayed at the forefront of the movement, there are others who haven't really received their proper due. These Southern-fried lyricists deserve their flowers while they can smell them. With their contributions going further than reppin' for their city, they've etched their proper place in hip-hop history. While this list is not meant to be definitive, it's definitely meant to remind you of the gems that might've missed your radar. Here's a list of 11 of the most underrated Southern MCs.

1. 8Ball and MJG

How You Might Know Them: The screw face-inducing perfection that is "You Don't Want Drama".

Our Recommendation: Get into the group's attempt to two-step into your soft side with "Space Age Pimpin'".

2. Crime Mob
