Two New York Yankees fans stole the show during Game 4 of the MLB’s World Series after they snatched a baseball from the glove of Los Angeles Dodgers star Mookie Betts, which has now gone viral.
CNN reported that during the bottom of the first inning, Betts dashed toward the right field line and the corner wall, hoping to snag a foul ball from Yankees second baseman Gleyber Torres. After he caught it in the right field, leaping over the wall into foul territory, one of the fans reached for his glove while the other went for his other hand, ultimately taking the ball from him.
It was later reported that they are banned from attending Game 5.
The fact that these two Yankee fans acted like they didn’t do anything wrong… one held Mookie’s glove.. other one grabs Mookie’s hand and won’t let go. If this was done in Philly, social media would’ve melted down. pic.twitter.com/1mYTLHGFgt

Judging by Betts’ reaction, he was upset by what happened. The two fans in question are Austin Capobianco and John Peter, who were quickly removed from their seats and escorted out of the stadium by security.
Capobianco is a Yankees season-ticket holder who went to the game with his friend Peter. He admitted to ESPN that they have talked about what they would do in a moment like that many times.
“We always joke about the ball in our area,” Capobianco said in an interview with ESPN after the game. “We’re not going to go out of our way to attack. If it’s in our area, we’re going to ‘D’ up. Someone defends, someone knocks the ball. We talk about it. We’re willing to do this.”
“I know when I’m in the wrong and as soon as I did it, I was like, ‘Boys I’m out of here. I patrol that wall and they know that,” he added.
Betts didn’t want to give light to the incident following the game.
“When it comes to the person in play, it doesn’t matter,” Betts said, per Sports Illustrated. “We lost. It’s irrelevant. I’m fine. He’s fine. Everything’s cool. We lost the game and that’s what I’m kind of focused on. We got to turn the page and get ready for tomorrow.”
