Nelson Mandela said, "There is no passion to be found in playing small." So why not have Beyoncé to headline and Oprah to keynote the most prominent global impact festival toward ending poverty?

After 14 years, Beyoncé satisfies her South African fan base with a long-awaited performance, and she's bringing her man along, too. The Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100, which kicks off December 2, will be hosted by Oprah, Naomi Campbell, Gayle King, Tyler Perry and Forest Whitaker, and bring together millions of young people from around the world to honor and uphold the legacy of Nelson Mandela.

Oprah will speak to the crowd about the impact of the life of her friend Nelson Mandela.

“It is one of the great honors of my life to have spent so much time with him, and I look forward to celebrating his courageous life,” she told Global Citizen.

Other performers include South African hip-hop stars Cassper Nyovest, Sho Madjozi and D’banj, along with the legendary Pharrell Williams and Usher.

Global Citizen's campaign centers around six pillars: ending poverty, zero hunger, good health and well being, quality education, gender equality, clean water and sanitation and life below water. You can contribute to the cause via globalcitizen.org and snag your free tickets to the epic event starting August 21.
