Most seven-year-olds don't have their name trademarked. But, not all seven-year-olds are “cultural icon” Blue Ivy.

Beyoncé is currently in a legal battle with wedding planning company owner Veronica Morales. The name of Morales' wedding company, launched in 2009 — three years before the Carters' oldest daughter entered the universe — is none other than Blue Ivy.

In court documents obtained by The Blast, Beyoncé says that Morales’ claim “that consumers are likely to be confused between a boutique wedding event planning business and Blue Ivy Carter, the daughter of two of the most famous performers in the world, is frivolous and should be refused in its entirety.”

The trademark in question is for “Blue Ivy Carter,” not “Blue Ivy.”

The Homecoming star’s legal team also notes that “the presence of the word 'CARTER' ties the commercial impression of BGK [Beyoncé Giselle Knowles'] Mark to the celebrity Blue Ivy Carter rather than Opposer’s regional event planning business.”

The Carters first attempted to trademark their daughter’s name in 2012, without her last name attached, but the trademark was already taken. The new trademark, which was filed in 2017, is an attempt to eventually launch products that align with Blue Ivy’s interests.

“Blue Ivy Carter’s fame, her interest in fashion and design, and her familial relationship with two of the most famous performers in the world all support BGK’s intent to use the BLUE IVY CARTER trademark in connection with building a brand consistent with Blue Ivy Carter’s interests and skills,” legal filings state.

Beyoncé even goes on to call her daughter a “cultural icon.” (Which, isn’t wrong.)

“Blue Ivy Carter is a cultural icon who has been described as a ‘mini style star’ and has been celebrated for her ‘fashion moments’ over the years.”

Just recently, Blue Ivy stole the show in the Making The Gift documentary, which profiled Bey as she made the soundtrack for the remake of The Lion King. Blue's recording for her verse in her and her mama's track "Brown Skin Girl" had viewers shooketh. Blue landed her first Billboard 100 spot thanks to the song.

But prior that, Blue been had all the adults wanting to be like her.

Then there was the time the elementary-school-aged youngin' bid $19,000 on a painting at an art auction. And we needn't talk about all the lewks she's served us measly commoners

Icon status aside, Morales is accusing the Lion King star of fraud, stating that she refused to turn over important documents on how she plans to use the trademark. Meanwhile, Bey alleges the wedding planner is attempting to profit off her daughter, stating she gave interviews after Blue Ivy was born and had a sale on her birthday.

The two are scheduled to go to trial.
