I’m sure you've heard the “we are made of mostly water” phrase when it comes to the importance and necessity of water.

Having access to drinking water should be a default for all humans, across the world. Along with food, water is absolutely necessary for a human's survival.

Beyoncé is a proponent of this idea and has followed up these humanistic thoughts with action by teaming up with UNICEF to launch BEYGOOD4BURUNDI, an initiative with a mission to provide water to kids in Burundi.

“Access to water is a fundamental right,” Beyoncé said in an official statement. “When you give children clean and safe water, you don’t just give them life, you give them health, an education and a brighter future. I am committed to helping drive lasting solutions to the water crisis in Burundi.”

The mother to Blue Ivy — and mother of newborn twins — already has a personal connection to the well-being of children as well as a general charitable heart.

Children are especially vulnerable to the effects of unsafe water, being more susceptible than adults to disease exposure and often missing school due to having undertake longer journeys to find potable water.

BEYGOOD4BURUNDI will consist of Bey supporting programs with initiatives to improve access of quality water, such as building easily accessible wells and developing sanitation facilities in schools.

“Addressing the global water crisis is one of the defining challenges of our time, and the children of Burundi are among the most vulnerable,” said the president and CEO of UNICEF USA, Caryl M. Stern. “This unique partnership combines UNICEF’s decades of expertise in providing clean water to children in Burundi and around the world with the power and influence of the entertainment world to bring about social change.”

Established in 2013, BeyGOOD has also announced its Burundi-based initiative on Twitter:

Shout-out to Beyoncé and UNICEF for this dope philanthropic effort!
