Black U.S. Senate Candidate Apologizes After Swastika Appears In His Campaign Ad
"We should have caught this error, and we didn't, and there is no excuse."

As patriotic and all-American as the right wing of politics often claims to be, Nazi affiliation is nothing new in the GOP. However, Republican U.S. Senate candidate John James explains that he made a "terrible error" when a swastika appeared in his campaign video.
The first campaign ad for James, who is looking to occupy one of Michigan's U.S. Senate seats, wasn't pulled before a few people noticed a swastika printed among other posted flyers on a hallway bulletin board featured in the ad. He was quickly called to front street.

The Trump-endorsed candidate ironically further clarified his stance against bigotry all while taking a shot at his Democratic opponent Sen. Debbie Stabenow.
"I love everyone, and I denounce hatred and bigotry in all its forms. But this is also indication that our message is working," he began. "This is also an indication of how low people are willing to go to take a message like this and to imply that a combat veteran, somebody who would put his life on the line for American values...doesn't belong to one party or the other, but belongs to Americans."
Despite his apology and the numerous people offended by the ad, it seems James only further made 45 proud:
WOW, John James is making headway in Michigan. We are bringing jobs back to the State, and the People of Michigan appreciate it. Debbie Stabenow has been no help, if anything, a major hindrance. John James is a star, I hope the voters see it. Polls are tightening!

James has since begun rolling a new ad centered around his father as well as his commitment to standing for "the anthem," the "fallen," and the "forgotten."
I believe America is still worth fighting for. Despite America’s challenges, we shall overcome. 🇺🇸💪🦅>https://t.co/NogMXEjIoQ< #LetsFlyMI #MISen #TeamJohnJames pic.twitter.com/yqUWuqybu3

Despite all offered explanations for why James' is the best man for the Senate job, Real Clear Politics polling shows Stabenow with a 16.3 percentage point lead over James.
