If you haven’t seen an episode of the hit TV show Atlanta by now, then you must be sleep. This week on Sway in the Morning, Brian Tyree Henry, aka Paper Boi, sat down with the morning show crew. Sway talked to Henry about his background as a graduate of the Yale School of Drama, along with talk about what cities he enjoyed being in most. During his sit down with the crew he also revealed that he is a also Morehouse College graduate (class of 2004). When Sway asked about the importance of HBCUs, Henry said, “You need to be in places that reflect you. You need to be in places that tell you what your experience will be as an educated black person in this country. The AUC was our block. No matter what we will hold each other accountable and hold each other down.”



Henry went on to say that he learned all about the diaspora and feels that these are things you need to know. His experience at an HBCU allowed him get involved with registering voters on campus and being a part of a political process for the first time in his life.
