The MTV VMAs was a night to remember as stars came together to celebrate the best in music. But this year's show was capped off with bold political stances as well as great performances. Cardi B was an example of that.
Before introducing singer Demi Lovato, Cardi B gave former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick a shout out in support of the NFL player's national anthem protest.
"Colin Kaepernick, as long as you kneel for us, we gon be standing with you, baby," she said. The Qb has yet to be signed by a team despite having better stats than some starting quarterbacks in the league.

In recent weeks, Kaepernick has gained new supporters in his fight against police brutality. New York police officers came out in support of him, a recent protest at the New York NFL headquarters was in his name and a nationwide blackout of NFL games has picked up steam.
Cardi B also gave a stellar performance of her smash hit "Bodak Yellow" that ended up being one of the highlights of the night.
