A China-based company has voluntarily recalled several cough drop products sold nationwide, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
Why were the cough drop recalled?
Xiamen Kang Zhongyuan Biotechnology Co., Ltd., located in Xiamen, China, initiated the recall on March 20 following an inspection of the manufacturing facility on Aug. 15, 2025. No additional details have been made public, the federal agency stated in a notice, according to WBNS and PIX11.
The FDA classified the recall as Class II on April 10. According to the agency, the classification is “a situation in which use of or exposure to a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.”
