NBA fans have much to say about the Miami Heat’s most recent tribute to basketball star Dwyane Wade.
Wade, who played for the team for most of his 16-year career, was honored for his contributions to his former team with a statue that fans say is less than honorable.
According to Sports Illustrated, the franchise held a ceremony on Sunday to unveil the statute outside the Kaseya Center in Miami. The statue features the former NBA player in his signature “This is my house” pose. Response to its unveiling was unanimous: The statue looks nothing like Wade.
Viewers were quick to roast the statue on social media.
Still, Wade commemorated the recognition on social media, sharing several Instagram Stories of him admiring the statute and thanking the Miami Heat for celebrating him.
