The first trailer for Boots Riley’s I Love Boosters is a color explosion that sticks it to the man, or in this case, the woman.
Keke Palmer, Naomi Ackie, Taylour Paige and Poppy Liu are a group of boosters who decide to put their stealing skills to use when Palmer’s character reveals a popular designer (Demi Moore) stole her designs. The official trailer drop follows the teaser trailer’s release earlier this year.
The new, wild trailer also shows LaKeith Stanfield, Will Poulter, Eiza González and Don Cheadle as over-the-top characters who are caught up in the gang’s plan to take from the rich.
Even though the teaser provided a quick peek, the trailer gives fans an even more in-depth look at the sets and costumes, all of which are delicious eye candy, as well as more of the film’s plot. But thankfully, it still feels like there are some secrets still left for viewers to discover for themselves. Overall, I Love Boosters looks like Riley’s most fun, stylish and comedic film yet.
When is ‘I Love Boosters’ in theaters?
Distributed by Neon, I Love Boosters has already made its world premiere at South by Southwest as its opening night film. The rest of the country will be able to see the zany, colorful film on May 22.
