Nicole Beharie has been tapped to star alongside Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù and John Douglas Thompson in the upcoming Netflix series All the Sinners Bleed.

Joe Robert Cole, the co-writer of Black Panther and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, is adapting the book and serving as executive producer and showrunner. The Obamas’ Higher Ground Productions is executive producing with Amblin Television and Crosby. Cole, who is returning to Netflix where he made his directorial debut with the Ashton Sanders and Jeffrey Wright film All Day and a Night, will also direct several episodes.

What is the plot of ‘All Sinners Bleed’

Based on the book of the same name by S.A Crosby, the murder mystery thriller combines racial and religious commentary. Per Netflix’s Tudum, “set in the American South, the forthcoming nine-episode adaptation follows Dìrísù’s small-town sheriff Titus Crown as he tries to stop a murderer who believes they’re on a divine mission.”

Who will Nicole Beharie play in ‘All the Sinners Bleed’?

Beharie will play Darlene Taylor, the girlfriend to Dìrísù’s character, Sheriff Titus Crown.

She is currently starring in Apple TV+’s The Morning Show, earning praise for her turn as Christina Hunter. The series has already been renewed for a fifth season. Dìrísù, meanwhile, is currently starring in Netflix’s Black Rabbit, while Thompson can be seen in the A24/Apple film Highest 2 Lowest and HBO’s The Gilded Age.
