After a week of online teasing and speculation, Disney+ has released the official trailer of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, starring Leah Sava Jeffries, Walker Scobell and Aryan Simhadri.
The new trailer for the eight-episode series shows even more of the magical world of Percy Jackson and its Greek gods. According to the official description:
Percy Jackson and the Olympians tells the fantastical story of a 12-year-old modern demigod, Percy Jackson, who’s just coming to terms with his newfound divine powers when the sky god, Zeus, accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt. With help from his friends Grover and Annabeth, Percy must embark on an adventure of a lifetime to find it and restore order to Olympus.
Also starring in the series includes Glynn Turman, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Megan Mullally, Toby Stephens, Virginia Kull, Jason Mantzoukas, Jay Duplass, Adam Copeland, Charlie Bushnell, Dior Goodjohn, Jessica Parker Kennedy, Olivea Morton, Suzanne Cryer, Timm Sharp, Timothy Omundson and the late Lance Reddick.
The series launches Dec. 20 with a two-episode premiere, followed by new episodes weekly.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians is created by Percy Jackson book series author Rick Riordan and Jon Steinberg. The series is also executive produced by Riordan and Steinberg as well as Dan Shotz, Rebecca Riordan, The Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Jeremy Bell and D.J. Goldberg, Bert Salke, James Bobin, Jim Rowe, Monica Owusu-Breen, Anders Engström and Jet Wilkinson.
