A24 has dropped the first trailer for The Front Room, which stars Brandy in her return to the horror genre.
Written and directed by Max Eggers and Sam Eggers, the film also stars Andrew Burnap, Neal Huff and Kathryn Hunter. The studio describes it as a “legendary face-off” between Brandy and Hunter, who plays “the wickedest mother-in-law of them all.” The film hits theaters on Sept. 6.
Here’s the logline:
Everything goes to hell for newly-pregnant Belinda (Brandy) after her mother-in-law (Hunter) moves in. As the diabolical guest tries to get her claws on the child, Belinda must draw the line somewhere…
This is the latest Eggers-A24 team-up after their older brother Robert Eggers’ The Lighthouse, starring Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe, in 2019. Max co-wrote that film with Robert.
This is a notable move back to horror for Brandy, who is known for her role in the iconic horror pic, I Know What You Did Last Summer. She was seen last in Netflix’s holiday film, Best. Christmas. Ever., and the ABC series Queens.
