A family is seeking answers after a young filmmaker disappeared without a trace.

Terrence Woods Jr. of Maryland, disappeared on October 5 while he was in the mountains of Idaho to film a documentary.

Idaho County Sheriff Doug Giddings told The Idaho County News that Woods was talking to a coworker when he “drops his radio and takes off running down the hill.”

The 26-year-old’s father doesn’t believe the story.

"One story they said they watched my son run off a cliff. What do you mean you all watched him? What do you mean you watched him? What are you saying? He's 130 lbs soaking wet, these are all big guys like me, and you're going to say you watched this little guy go and kill himself or whatever you're trying to put out there? Come on man," Terrence Woods Sr. told Fox5DC.

Sharnia Tisdale, Woods Jr.’s sister, agrees.

"He is not the type of person that would just run off or do anything like this, so it seems unusual to me, but you know I wasn't there, so I can only go by what they are saying," Tisdale told Fox Baltimore.

Active searches for Woods stopped on October 11 after no clues were found. Search parties looked for Woods on foot with dogs and via helicopter but came up with nothing.

“Honestly we don’t know. With everything we have done, you think we’d have found something,” Giddings said.

Woods Sr. doesn’t think they were looking in the right place.

"My son saw something, heard something he shouldn't have seen or heard and didn't like it. My son is not in the woods; someone picked my son up. What for? What's going on? That's what I need to know. My son is not in the woods,” he declared.

Woods Sr. last spoke to his son via text message. He was supposed to visit him five days after his disappearance.

"At 8:34 my son texted me back, 'Dad, I'm coming home on Wednesday the 10th.' Between that little time, something went wrong. Then the next call I get is from the company saying my son disappeared. Can't find a trace of him,” he recalled.

Raw TV, the company Woods Jr. was working for, released a terse statement about the disappearance:

“We can confirm that Terrence Woods, a member of one of our production teams, went missing on Friday, October 5, in Orogrande, Nez Perce National Forrest, Idaho,” they wrote.

"The Idaho County Sheriff’s Office was immediately informed, and they implemented a Search and Rescue operation. Mr. Woods is a well-liked, valued member of the production team, and we have been working closely with the Sheriff’s Office which has been leading the search. Mr. Woods’ family are in direct contact with the Sheriff’s Office. All inquiries regarding the status of the search should be directed to the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office."

Before he went missing, Woods Jr. had a promising career.

"He's traveled around the world; he really likes to do TV; he is a loving person and caring and an all-around good person,” Tisdale said.

The University of Maryland graduate traveled around the globe to film and has worked for hit TV show The Voice.

Anyone with information about Woods Jr.’s disappearance should contact the Idaho County Sheriff's office at 208-983-1100.
