We’ve talked about each of these films all week, so consider this a reminder – they are all now official in theaters, some in more theaters than others.
Here’s a summary:
– First, in wide release is the Halle Berry thriller The Call. Brad Anderson directs, with Abigail Breslin and Morris Chestnut co-starring. The WWE Studios and Troika Pictures joint production is described as follows: Set against the backdrop of a 911 call center, this fast-paced suspense pic will find Berry playing a 911 emergency operator who takes a call from a teenage girl (Breslin) who has been abducted and carried away in the trunk of a car. Berry’s character must face her own fears in order to save the teenage girl from a disturbed killer. The kidnapping plays out in real time as the pair work together to track down the killer.
– Second, in limited release via AFFRM’s new multi-platform label ARRAY, is Storm Saulter’s Better Mus’ Come. Passion, politics and poverty collide as this love story unfolds against
a backdrop of political turmoil in 1970’s Jamaica, as rival gangs
enlisted by warring political factions disrupt the democratic process,
leading to bloodshed in the streets. Better Mus’ Come begins in 1977 and ends the in the first couple days of 1978 during the Green Bay Massacre,
and follows Ricky, a gang leader and political pawn, as he struggles to
navigate the hardships of life in Kingston, and to define a better way
of life for his young son. The film opens today in NYC at the AMC Empire 25 in Times Square, and in Los Angeles at the Downtown Independent.
– Third, also in limited release, Mischa Webley’s The Kill Hole, courtesy of RBC Film Group and Alternate Ending Studios. The film stars Chadwick Boseman as Lt. Samuel Drake, a troubled
vet who is plagued by his actions while he was deployed in Iraq. Tory Kittles co-stars in this gripping drama that’s set
against the backdrop of the Pacific Northwest wilderness, and tells the haunting story of one man forced to confront his
violent past, and the uneasy bond he forms with the mysterious assassin

– And finally, also in limited release, VICE Films and Snoopadelic Films present the theatrical premiere
of Snoop Lion’s Reincarnated documentary, which follows Snoop Dogg as
he undergoes a spiritual odyssey and career reinvention in Jamaica and
emerges rechristened as “Snoop Lion.” It opens today in New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Miami, Atlanta, Chicago, and Austin. For theater locations in those cities, click HERE.
