Complex recently revealed the latest cover of its magazine, and after seeing Issa Rae front and center all we can say is:

The cover shoot was inspired by one of Rae's favorite black women in film and television, Pam Grier. In the cover story, the writer, director, actress and producer shared some insight about what to expect in season 2 of her hit HBO series Insecure, including how her character's relationship evolves with her best friend Molly, played by Yvonne Orji.

“This season, you’ll see them kind of calling each other to the carpet in terms of being honest with each other because last season they let a lot of stuff build, so when we come in this season, they’re like, “Look, we’re being honest with each other. We have a trigger word that is to make sure that we’re honest at all times.”

Rae also reveals that for season 2, she had a lot more hiring power, giving her the opportunity to give others a shot.

“You give someone an opportunity and if they knock it out of the park, other doors will open. Then it’s crazy because other people will just jump on board, but it’s like all they needed was a chance.”

This cover and photo spread get us even more excited about the show's return, especially after the shocking and messy ending of season 1.
