Jamie Foxx shared new photos on his Instagram account and gave fans a health update four months after suffering an undisclosed medical condition.
On Wednesday, the 55-year-old said he was thankful to everyone who kept him in their thoughts and prayers and those who stuck by him during the “unexpected dark journey,” E! News reported.
“You’re lookin at a man who is thankful… finally startin to feel like myself… it’s been an unexpected dark journey… but I can see the light… I’m thankful to everyone that reached out and sent well wishes and prayers,” Foxx wrote in the post’s caption.
He continued: “I have a lot of people to thank… u just don’t know how much it meant… I will be thanking all of you personally… and if you didn’t know… GOD IS GOOD… all day every day… #swipeleft #imbackandimbetter #nobaddays.”

Fans and close celebrity friends flooded the comment section with well wishes and positive words for the Texas native.

Blavity reported that fans were concerned about the Oscar winner’s health after his daughter, Corinne Foxx, shared the news in April that her father was hospitalized due to an “undisclosed medical condition.”
“We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday, [April 11],” the 29-year-old wrote in a post, according to Deadline. “Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.”
In May, Corinne shared another update, stating her father was out of the hospital and “recuperating.” She also dismissed claims the beloved actor had turned for the worse and his health had declined.
Since then, Foxx has made several public appearances over the summer. In July, he was spotted waving to fans from a boat as he sailed across the Chicago River. He also played Topgolf and returned a woman’s purse after she lost it on the street.
Weeks later, he got candid about his health in a video posted to his Instagram account. The singer said he “went to hell and back” as he thanked the doctors, his family, friends, and fans who kept him in their prayers.

“I know a lot of people were waiting or wanting to hear updates but to be honest with you, I just didn’t want you to see me like that man,” he said. “I want you to see me laughing, having a good time partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie, television show. I didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was gonna make it through.”
“As you can see, the eyes are working, the eyes are working just fine,” he said. “I’m not paralyzed, but … I went to hell and back, and my road to recovery had some potholes as well. But I’m coming back and I’m able to work,” he added.
