Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) slammed GOP lawmakers when she recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Crockett, who is leaving the House in January, sat down with guest host Anthony Anderson and called out Republicans for refusing to keep Donald Trump in check as he continues to abuse his power as President.

What did Jasmine Crockett say on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’?

Crockett told Anderson that Republicans have failed to do their job despite having control of the House.

“Many people right now are hurting in the country, and my answer to everyone is: look at who is in control,” Crockett said on the show, per The Root. “On the federal level, it’s Republicans across the board. Democrats control absolutely nothing. In a state like Texas, it’s Republicans across the board.”

As she called out the lack of accountability, Crockett said “Republicans are very performative.”

“A lot of them don’t like Donald Trump, but they’re too afraid to say so,” she said.

Crockett also appeared to poke fun at the Republicans’ age while at the same time calling them out for sleeping on the job.

“My theory is that maybe even half of the Senate is already dead anyway,” she said. “They are old, old, like, old.”

The former public defender continued to slam the lawmakers, saying she is still dealing with criminals in her current role.

“I’ve dealt with murderers, child rapists–and clearly, we got a lot of them in Congress,” she said.

Crockett also revealed some of the things she heard from Republicans in private conversations.

“We have our own little back rooms. So every once in a while, they will be like, ‘Hey, you can come to our back room?’” she said. “They’ll invite me for stuff. They also do things like, ‘You want to, like, get into a fight so we can go on Fox News?’ And I’m like, ‘I’ma pass.’”

What’s next for Jasmine Crockett?

After losing the Democratic Senate primary to state Rep. James Talarico in March, Crockett will leave the House at the start of next year. As she looked forward to her next chapter, Crockett said she wants to help other candidates by starting a leadership PAC. Speaking on the Sherri show, Crockett said her PAC is called FIRE: Fuel Individual Rights Everywhere.

“I’m going to go on tour across the country,” Crockett said on the show, per CBS News. “We are going to educate people about what it is that elected officials can do, should be doing, and what they’re doing wrong.”
