Jay Z remains unapologetically black while performing on the recent edition of Saturday Night Live

After declining to perform during the 2018 Super Bowl halftime, the legendary rapper showed his commitment to former San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick's movement by wearing a Kap jersey during the performance.

The signature performance featured Damian Marley for a dope live version of  “Bam.” In addition to the Kap jersey with the words "Colin K" inscribed on the back, there was an Ethiopian flag waving throughout the entire song.

All of this comes after a week of controversy stemming from President Donald Trump's statements regarding NFL players who protest during the national anthem. While in front of a majority white crowd in Huntsville, Alabama, Trump called for the firing of players who decided to stand against police brutality and racial injustice.

"Wouldn't you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, say: 'Get that son of a b—- off the field right now. Out. He's fired. He's fired,"' said Trump.

Jay Z has also been at odds with Trump calling 45's presidency a joke. Last night's performance served two purposes and will be one of many as Hova gears up for a seven-week North American tour starting in California on Oct. 27.
