Swoosh! Kendrick Lamar is fresh off a dope (and woke) performance and big wins at the 2017 MTV VMAs, so while he can tell everyone else to “sit down [and] be humble,” that might not apply to him!

K Dot STAYS winning because, according to GQ, he recently announced a collaboration with the sneaker giant to end all sneaker giants: Nike! That’s right, Lamar is launching his remixed sneaker, the Nike Cortez. The super successful rapper took to social media to express his excitement, captioning the announcement post with, "Cortez. Since day 1. #teamnike." Lamar had his eyes on getting back to the Nike Cortez for a hot minute.

Lamar had previously been locked down with Reebok from 2014 to early 2017, where he remixed sneakers such as the Ventilator, Classic Leather and Club C. Now, he is kicking them to the curb to join the swoosh.

The Nike Cortez first debuted in 1972 and are the epitome of Los Angeles. The classic Nike Cortez kicks were re-released earlier this year. So, Nike Angelino fans will be especially excited to see Lamar bring back that white leather and red Swoosh.

But, don’t take our word for it! Kendrick and sneakerheads alike were definitely hype about the news and expressed such via Twitter:

Though we do know Kendrick stans for Nike, we don't necessarily know exactly what his partnership with the brand will entail. We'll certainly keep our eyes and ears peeled! Congrats, K Dot!
