Perfectly landing their first dunk is a milestone in any young basketball player’s life, and for LeBron James’ son, the emotion is no different.
LeBron "Bronny" James Jr. received a standing ovation from his legendary father when he dunked during the second half of his middle school basketball game at Crossroads School in Santa Monica, California. James jumped from his seat, cheering his son on as he beamed.

Making the moment even more precious, Bronny sported his father’s number, 23, on his jersey and led the team by scoring 27 points, including three 3-pointers, in what would become an ultimate 61-48 victory, the Los Angeles Times reported.
If he continues to play like this, Bronny has a chance of making the varsity team at Crossroads next year, where he will play beside Shaquille O’Neal’s son.
Ira Smith, Crossroads’ athletic director, hopes to tackle unwanted attention on the boys by keeping games from being advertised on social media and rejecting media inquiries.
“The goal for everyone is [to] let him be a 14-year-old eighth-grader,” Smith said.
Though the school may try, it’ll be hard to keep interest off of these two rising stars.
