On Sunday night, July 1, former Cleveland Cavaliers player LeBron James announced he would once again be taking his talents away from his hometown after one too many championship gaffes from his ex-teammates. Dubbed LaBron following the announcement, the 33-year-old will be joining the Los Angeles Lakers after agreeing to a four-year, $154 million contract with the team.
As one can imagine, reactions have been somewhat mixed. Many Clevelanders are supportive of King James' decision, just thankful that he brought a championship win to the city at all. Others are upset, but hopefully not angry enough to bring out the torches for a second time. Those tried and true LeBron fans have found this a smooth transition, merely picking up their bags and heading to the next city with him.
One thing you can count on is the internet taking the new information and turning their reactions into jokes. Whether you're going to join the bandwagon or sulk that he's gone, you have to admit that these reactions are great:
