The Louisiana State University Lady Tigers will celebrate their win over Iowa with a concert featuring Lil Wayne and Latto. There’s no better way to honor the women’s basketball team’s National Championship. The New Orleans native and Atlanta artist have worked with two of the team’s most prominent players, Angel Reese and Flau’jae Johnson.

The concert will take place at Pete Maravich Assembly Center in Baton Rouge on Nov. 15. The LSU WB Instagram page shared news of the scheduled festivities on Sunday, which garnered over 9k likes. Students can purchase tickets on Tuesday, Oct. 17, on LSU’s website.

The Tigers have made many connections with the industry’s A-listers since their National Championship win. LSU’s guard, Johnson, has collaborated with Lil Wayne on one of her latest tracks. The collab was bound to happen after the two met during Essence Fest and shared some kind words behind the stage.

“I want to drop the feature on my album. He’s already sent it in; it’s fire,” Johnson said. “It’s giving heavy spitta. You know Lil Wayne is one of the GOATs, so he blessed the track,” she said about Tunechi’s verse.

Reese has risen to stardom following several NIL deals, recently one with Reebok, STARRY and more. Reese has also linked with Latto in her “Put It On Da Floor Again” music video. Cardi B is another artist to show women love by referencing the team’s win in her verse.

“Put a ribbon on me, I been actin’ brand new/I ain’t smokin’ on no za, lil’ bi**h, I’m smokin’ on you/Put your bestie in a pack, and now I’m smokin’ her too/I been ballin’ so damn hard, could’ve went to LSU, huh,” she rapped.

LSU won the NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship for the first time in school history by defeating Iowa. According to SportsCenter, Reese became the first player since 2000 to have 25 points, 20 rebounds and five blocks in a women’s NCAA tournament game.
