Mario signed a new deal with Epic Records on Monday under his imprint label New Citizen. The new partnership with Sony Music, the parent company of Epic, is considered Mario’s first record deal since 2013, WBLS reported.
“Right now, Epic comprises some of the greats in the music game like Sylvia Rhone and Ezekiel Lewis. I’ve been independent for eight years, so this is definitely a new chapter for me and New Citizen. We’re going to be one of the chariots for R&B, and we’re bringing it back,” the 36-year-old said in a press release.
A new album might be in the works for the R&B crooner.
Last week, Mario released his latest single, “Main One,” featuring Tyga and Lil Wayne. He took to Instagram to share a song snippet with his followers.
