Lupita Nyong'o took the joy of Black Panther back to her homeland when she decided to sponsor children in Kenya to see the movie. In what became known as the #BlackPantherChallenge, people raised money to give children and families who may otherwise not be able to see the movie a chance to witness all this amazing representation. Nyong'o was able to add to this amazing mission by sending 600 Kenyan children to the movie as well.

Nyong'o plays the loveable yet fierce Nakia in Black Panther, a character who is all about helping others and being a pillar of hope. Even so, art imitates life.

"I joined the #BlackPantherChallenge and sponsored 600 schoolchildren to watch the film in Kisumu, Kenya with my mother's help," Nyong'o wrote in an Instagram post. "I wanted kids from my hometown to see the positive images reflected in the film and superheroes that they can relate to on the big screen. No matter where you live, you can help make this happen for more children who can't afford to see the movie. Information for various GoFundMe campaigns is in my link in bio."

Black Panther passed the $500 Million mark yesterday. We live as this black excellence continues to be spread.
