Update (March 10, 2019): An individual who wanted to remain anonymous paid roughly $160,000 in back child support to secure singer R. Kelly's release from jail.
According to The Chicago Sun-Times, the Chocolate Factory artist was released from a Cook County, Illinois, jail Saturday. He entered jail last week due to his inability to pay ex-wife Andrea Kelly $161,663 in outstanding child support.
Per a copy of a bond slip, the individual responsible for coming to Kelly's rescue declined to be identified, the Chicago Tribune reports. The media also is unaware of how the person is connected to the 52-year-old.
“I promise you we’re gonna straighten all this stuff out," Kelly said as he approached reporters and fans. "… That’s all I can say right now.’’
Kelly entered a black van and left the jail in which he called home for three nights.
“I love my fans. I love y’all … appreciate it,’’ he said as he departed.
The Associated Press reports the "Step in the Name of Love" singer was kept in a solo cell with 24-hour observation due to his celebrity status. Within the past two weeks, the artist once deemed the "King of R&B" was bailed out by an anonymous donor. Before this latest instance, a Chicago business owner posted $100,000 bail following news reporting Cook County authorities charged Kelly with 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse of four alleged victims.

CBS Chicago reports Kelly appeared in court Wednesday afternoon. The singer stands accused of owing his former wife, Andrea Kelly, $190,000 in child support. According to their divorce agreement in 2009, Robert is to pay Andrea $20,000 per month. The artist reportedly stopped paying last spring.
A previous arrangement gave him until 10 a.m. Wednesday morning to pay her part of what he owed, a total of $161,663. However, TMZ reports the singer was either unable or unwilling to honor that agreement, and he was escorted out of court by law enforcement officials.

Kelly was in the same jail nearly two weeks ago when he was arrested on criminal sex abuse charges. As Blavity reported, he was released on bail after a friend gifted him with $100,000.
To be released this time, the artist will need to pay Andrea Kelly the full $190,000 he owes her.
Wednesday's arrest comes on the same day CBS This Morning aired an explosive interview with the accused sexual predator, Blavity reported. The controversial singer denied allegations he had sex with underage girls and also spoke about his children.
"I’m trying to have a relationship with my kids and I can’t do it," Kelly said of the allegations he faces. "Y’all just don’t want to believe the truth.”
