Sisqó just got married, and during the reception, he took the time to serenade his new wife and their guests because that's what performers do. And his performance was full of nostalgia!
On Friday, August 17, the Dru Hill frontman married his longtime fiancée and mother of his children, Elizabeth Pham, in St. Paul, Minnesota, according to Us Weekly.
Sisqó said the day had been long in the making and that he and Pham have known each other for a very long time. He also said he and Pham “were kinda dating like on and off for a while … maybe 15 years.”
As one might expect of Sisqó, the proposal had an interesting twist.
“I proposed, and I got, like, a big, fat rock," the artist said. "I did it kinda cool, because I felt like our son [Ryu] was the one that kinda saved [us]. I sent him in with a ring box, and she looked into the box and didn’t see anything … She then went to look for me to figure out what’s going on. She came around the corner, and I was one knee, and I asked her, and she said ‘Yes!’”
Cute!
The exchange of vows was reportedly very romantic, but like all weddings, the reception was where things truly got lit.
CCX News reporter Delane Cleveland is an old friend of Pham's and attended the wedding, according to the Baltimore Sun.
A reporter, Cleveland couldn't help but update the public on some of the day's highlights and confirmed "Thong Song" was included on the reception playlist.
However, a DJ didn't spin the hit: Sisqó performed it himself. Naturally.
I took the day off work today to go to Sisqo’s wedding. (File this under the category of “things I never thought I’d say in my life”).

I can report that Sisqo just performed “Thong Song” at his wedding reception in St. Paul. And it was fantastic.

Wow, when Sisqó sang, "I think I'll sing it agaiiiin!" in "Thong Song," he wasn't playin'.
“I initially sang ‘Thong Song’ about the first thong that I ever saw, so it was only right to sing it about the last one I will ever see … in private, that is,” Sisqó said of his choice.
Now, we're just sitting here wondering if he crowd-surfed his guests like he did in the video. We can dream, right?
