After repeated attacks on Haitians living in America, President Donald Trump's administration will stop Haitians from receiving temporary agricultural and seasonal visas.

The Trump administration has decided to remove Haiti, Belize and Samoa from the list of countries that are eligible for the visas, called the H-2A agricultural and the H-2B non-agricultural temporary permits. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released a statement claiming that Haitians have abused the visas with "high levels of fraud and abuse and a high rate of overstaying."

According to CNN, there are 80 countries eligible for these temp worker programs and it is unusual that a nation is removed. Last year, Trump's administration began chipping away at Haitians living in America by revealing its plan to end Temporary Protected Status for nearly 60,000 Haitians who have been living and working legally in the U.S. since the 2010 earthquake. This decision will start to take place next year.

Weeks ago, President Donald Trump was accused of calling nations like Haiti, El Salvador and several African nations sh*thole countries in a bipartisan immigration briefing, according to The Washington Post.

In that report, he also stated that he would prefer if more immigrants from Norway would come to the U.S. instead.

Trump has allegedly made disparaging comments about Haiti and Nigeria. At the end of 2017, the White House denied that Trump said Haitians had AIDS and that Nigerians would never “go back to their huts” in Africa during another immigration briefing.
