A white woman has gone viral on TikTok after giving a cringeworthy speech at a mixed-race wedding. The white woman, who introduced herself to the guests as Shannon, started the speech by explaining how long she has known the bride, who is also white. The bizarre guest didn’t know the groom, who is Black, but she assured him that he is “part of the family.”

Shannon appeared nervous at first as she joked about how the groom “better take care of her girl” because she “knows where he lives.” But the speech only continued to get worse from there.

“You’re a part of the family, I swear to God. Like, I’m not going to be racist, you guys, I’m just saying,” Shannon said as she rambled on.

Her unwarranted comment about race continued to take a wild turn.

“I’m gonna be racist, OK,” she said before telling the guests that she was joking.

Shannon dug herself into a deeper hole, saying she loves how the newlyweds are “outstepping the stereotype.” She then told the audience that she “loves Black people.”

The drunk speech finally came to an end when somebody in the audience started to clap.

The groom’s sister, who posted the video on TikTok, said the white woman was a friend of the bride. The sister also shared the bride’s reaction to the speech.

“When she started going there, I kind of froze up and I was holding Anthony’s hand. Once she got to the mixing part, I dug my nails into his palm and immediately looked toward the family and gave Ty that (like) get her look,” the bride wrote in a text.
