We recently reported the problems brewing Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's desire to invite the Obamas to their May 2018 royal wedding.

Harry has grown close to the former president in recent years, and in what appears to be further proof of their friendship, Prince Harry recently conducted a BBC Radio 4's Today interview with Barack Obama on topics ranging from social media to what he'd do with his last five bucks.

And in discussing the millennial generation and the evolution of social media, Obama took the opportunity to advocate for those in power to use social media with responsibility and thoughtfulness.

"All of us in leadership have to find ways in which we can recreate a common space on the internet," Obama said.

"One of the dangers of the internet is that people can have entirely different realities," he continued. "They can be cocooned in information that reinforces their current biases. The question has to do with how do we harness this technology in a way that allows a multiplicity of voices, allows a diversity of views, but doesn't lead to a Balkanisation of society and allows ways of finding common ground."

It wasn't clear if the former president was referring to Donald Trump or the recent demise of net neutrality; he did not mention either the current president or the decision explicitly. However, the Associated Press suggests that 44 had 45 in mind with his comments.

Speaking of Trump, Prince Harry went on to ask a question that was going through many of our minds back in January: What exactly was going through Obama's mind while sitting through Trump's inauguration?

"Concerns about how the country moves forward but, you know, overall there was serenity there," Obama said. In answering, Obama also seized an opportunity to give a shout out to Michelle, who he described as his "partner throughout that whole process."

As for the future, Obama remains optimistic despite the struggles we're facing today.

"If we take responsibility for being involved in our own fate, if we participate, if we engage, if we speak out, if we work in our communities, if we volunteer, then all the problems that we face are solvable despite all the terrible news that you see," he noted. "If you had to choose a moment in human history in which you'd want to be born you'd choose today because the fact is that the world is healthier, wealthier, better educated and more tolerant, more sophisticated and less violent."

Before finishing his chat with the prince, the former president indulged the royal by answering some fun questions like "boxers or briefs?", "Suits or The Good Wife?" and "LeBron James or Michael Jordan?" in a rapid-fire-question round conducted by the Prince.

Hilarious!

Oh, and according to CBS Miami, while the prince didn't put the questions about the Obamas' invite to his wedding to rest during the interview, he did address them after. In an interview the BBC conducted with Harry following the airing of the prince's chat with Obama, Harry was asked directly about the controversy.

He dodged the question, telling the host that he "wouldn't want to ruin that surprise."
