Two of music's most influential artists, Queen Bey and Jay-Z, paid tribute to ailing legendary soul and R&B singer Aretha Franklin in her hometown of Detroit.  

While stopping in the Motor City on Monday, August 13, as part of their On the Run II tour, the Carters sent well-wishes to Franklin as she battles an undisclosed illness.

“This show is dedicated to Aretha Franklin,” Bey said. “We love you and thank you.” 

Ford Field rocked with a tribute from DJ Khaled honoring the "Respect" singer, Click on Detriot reports. Khaled's rendition of her most iconic tune brought down the house. 

Fans still in shock about the news of one of America's greatest music icons being ill celebrated her life and her work.  

On Monday, Blavity reported family members close to the 76-year-old Queen of Soul had gathered by her bedside in recent days. 

A source close to the family informed The Associated Press they weren't at liberty to speak about the seriousness of Franklin's illness at the moment.
