Cardi B opened up about her struggles with postpartum depression after the birth of her daughter, Kulture.

In an interview with fashion magazine Harper's Bazaar, the Bronx rapper discussed her success, marriage and motherhood.

Kulture Kiari Cephus was born in July of 2018.

Throughout the year, the "Money" rapper shared on Instagram and her other social media platforms about her struggles with depression. Doctors warned her she would feel this way, but initially, she told Harper's, she was feeling fine.

“I thought I was going to avoid it,” she told the magazine. “When I gave birth, the doctor told me about postpartum, and I was like, ‘Well, I’m doing good right now, I don’t think that’s going to happen.’ But out of nowhere, the world was heavy on my shoulders.”

At first, she was hesitant about showing off her newborn. Citing possible criticism and harassment, she did not release a photo of Kulture until later in the year.

"As soon as she was born, one month in [Offset] was like, 'She's so beautiful. Watch how people gonna go crazy,'" she said. "'Cause a lot of people were saying mean stuff, like that we don't post her because she's ugly. He was like, 'I'm about to post my baby right now.' But then we were very concerned because we were getting a lot of threats, so he said, 'The world don't even deserve to see her.'"

Last year was a monumental year for the burgeoning new queen of rap. She was scheduled to go on tour with singer Bruno Mars on his 24K Magic tour just a few weeks after giving birth. However, she canceled and told fans she needed to "recover" via Instagram.

Even with success under her belt, the five Grammy nominations, the hit singles and her recent appearances in Super Bowl ads, she had some low points, too. Notably, she was in a kerfuffle with fellow rapper Nicki Minaj at a party hosted by Harper's Bazaar.

Cardi reportedly threw one of her shoes at the 36-year-old, and the magazine pokes fun at this on one of the many covers featuring her. In homage to Cinderella, she is seen running from a castle wearing only one shoe. A spotlight shines on the glass slipper left behind.

During the holiday season, Cardi B publicly split up with her hubby, Offset, due to his many cheating allegations. There are reports stating the two have reconciled, and the bad moments she's faced recently haven't stopped her success.

The new mother will have a Las Vegas residency. She is a new Democratic voice of the people, and her star power continues to rise. It also appears Cardi and Nicki Minaj squashed their beef

"I feel like my life is a fairy tale and I'm a princess— rags to riches, people trying to sabotage," she told Harper's Bazaar. "Before, I cared about everything—relationship, gossip. Now I don't feel like I have the time to please people. I don't care about anything anymore—just my career and my kid. Well, I care about my career because of my money."
