President Donald Trump's latest attempt to harass a black athlete may have fallen short due to some of his old tweets resurfacing.

On Friday, August 3, Trump attacked the Lakers' new star player, LeBron James, and CNN's Don Lemon for being outspoken critics of his administration. James, who was being interviewed by Lemon following the grand opening of his school for at-risk youth, has been vocal about his dislike for Trump. So, Trump fired back and insulted both men's intelligence.

"Lebron James was just interviewed by the dumbest man on television, Don Lemon," Trump wrote. "He made Lebron look smart, which isn’t easy to do. I like Mike!"

But with every current Trump tweet, there is an equal and opposite tweet refuting his beliefs. Around the time of the 2012 NBA Finals, Trump tweeted support for King James because of their connections to Miami.

When it came to whether he liked James, Trump flat-out told an inquiring mind that the king was a "great guy."

And Trump even praised James in 2013 for being named "Athlete of the Year."

Not only has Trump's tweets refuted his current insults, but First Lady Melania Trump has come out in support of King James.

"It looks like LeBron James is working to do good things on behalf of our next generation and just as she always has, the First Lady encourages everyone to have an open dialogue about issues facing children today," the First Lady's spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham, said in a statement to media.
