The McClure twins are super cute, but the controversy surrounding their dad isn't.

Blavity recently reported on a string of racist tweets from McClure family patriarch Justin McClure's old comedy account (which now serves as the McClure twins' account), tweeted between 2011-2014. The tweets had been deleted, but just like Wakanda, screenshots are forever.

Once the tweets resurfaced, everyone side-eyed Justin as well as his black wife, Ami McClure.

As the couple is well-versed in using social media to build their personal brands, the McClures decided to address the debacle head-on with a new YouTube video, one in which Ami addresses her husband's racist tweets and another revealing Justin isn't the famous twins' father.

Ami pointed out the same statements Justin made could've easy come from the mouth of a person full of hate. After talking for several minutes about the tweets, the two agreed Justin's statements were indeed racist, but he himself isn't.

Justin also sat down with his daughters to explain what happened, and attempted to use his public faux pas a learning tool. The girls were somewhat skeptical their father had learned his lesson, seeing as he didn't receive a punishment.

"But, how did you learn your lesson, you didn't even get a spanking!" exclaimed one half of the adorable duo. Justin explained he got a spanking of the mind.

“I wanna make it clear that I was just as shocked and surprised at those tweets," noted Ami. "I did not know Justin then. I met Justin in 2014. We did not start anything on social media until 2016. I know there is a gap there, that will be explained in a separate video.”

The "gap" Ami referenced refers to the birth of the twins, who were born in 2013. The internets noticed the timeline and started digging leading Ami to make a video on Sunday, confirming that Justin indeed adopted the twins

“In 2012, I married a man I knew I should never have married and finding out that I was pregnant with the girls is what gave me the courage to get out of that relationship, because I knew I couldn’t bring children into a toxic and abusive environment," she said. "So I did my best as a mother to not allow my mistakes to affect my children.”

"Justin and I met after the girls were born," Ami continued. "They were a little over a year old. Justin adopted the girls. He is their dad, he’s the only dad they’ve known and he will be the only dad they’ve ever known."
