It's #NationalSiblingDay, and other than once sharing a parent or two, that bond can lead to great things! While there are millions of great siblings of note, here are a few in particular that we want to celebrate today … and forever.

1. Donald and Stephen Glover

These two are the definition of combining sibling powers to create great art. The two collaborated on the hugely popular FX series, Atlanta and were slated to run the Deadpool animated series. Though that project has now been axed, it did result in Glover leaking a hilarious mock-script. So, we all still win.

2. Michael and Martellus Bennett

Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael and his brother Martellus are all about the culture. The two were honored with a Shine A Light award at the 2017 BET Awards ceremony for their philanthropy efforts focused on women of color and minorities in general. The Bennetts also have the full support of the black community as we all witness when the people rose up to call shenanigans on the report that Michael Bennett assaulted a woman in a wheelchair. And, giving us one more reason to love him, Michael is penning a book called, Things That Make White People Uncomfortable.

3. Beyoncé and Solange Knowles

The two Knowles sisters are a double dose of black girl magic! Showcasing girl power in their own unique way, these two women are what sisterhood is all about! Oh, and they never shy away from giving props to their matriarch, Ms. Tina Knowles … and vice versa — Ms. Tina loves her babies!

4. Serena and Venus Williams

Need we say more? These Compton queens dominate the tennis industry in a way we've never seen before, and for that, we thank them forever. Plus, they aren't afraid to speak up for black girls — for example, Serena has been very open about how the healthcare industry needs to improve in its treatment of black women. And recently, the pair teamed up with Billie Jean King to fight for equal pay

Oh, and speaking of sisterly sports …

5. Layla and Roxy Phillips

Make way for the next generation! Venus and Serena ran so they can soar! Layla (6) and Roxy (4) have already been dubbed the Venus and Serena of golf. Beyond their excellent athletic skills, the two girls have made education a priority over all.

6. Kayla and Keona Davis

At 19 and 21, respectively, Kayla and Keona became the youngest owners of a beauty supply store two years ago. As the hair industry isn't currently controlled by the very demographic that controls the bulk of its sales, the Davis sisters are a breath of fresh air!

7. Carlton and Darrick Hargro

Carlton (47) and Darrick (50) proved that it's never too late to pursue your dreams! The Hargro brothers recently released a line of black superhero comics, featuring titles such as Nia Griggs and the Kimetic Sisterhood of Science and Moses

These are just a sample of the sibling excellence that reverberates throughout our community! As we honor our siblings, let's remember that there is something excellent about each and every one of us!
